Title | : | Bioprospective Potentiality of Essential Oil of Ocimum gratissimum Linn.-An Innovative Approach for Fruit Preservation |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Pranab Giri |
Abstract: Of late, it becomes a great problem to the cultivators for post harvest preservation of fruits because of their proneness to be attacked by different pathogens causing rot or other necrotic lesions on fruit surface reducing their luster and market value as well. The use of synthetic compound for post harvest preservation of fruits definitely has some drawbacks because of their permeability through rind which may cause severe health hazards upon consumption. In this regard, natural volatile compounds from plant resources in particular may have immense potentiality to act as a substitute for synthetic compounds which will be safer and eco friendly. In the present investigation some pathogenic isolates from some common fruit surfaces were tested to grow in presence of essential oil extracted from six species of Ocimum growing in our state.......

Title | : | Study Of Behaviour Of Indian Mongoose Herpestis Javanicus |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr Rashmi Sharma |
Abstract: Mongoose is small feliform carnivores that are native to southern Eurasia and Africa. The genus Suricata Suricata suricata commonly called meercat is found in South Africa. Herpestidae is placed within the suborder Feliformia, together with the cat, hyena, and civet families. Mongoose live in South Asia, Africa, Fiji, Puerto Rico, Caribbean and Hawaiian islands where they are an introduced sp. Mongooses have receptors for acetylcholine, like the receptors in snakes so it is impossible for snake neurotoxin venom to attach to them........

Title | : | An Expert System to Detect Polycystic Ovary Syndrome under Uncertainty |
Country | : | Bangladesh |
Authors | : | Md. Khaliluzzaman || Md. Shahedul Islam || Rezaul Karim |
Abstract: This paper describes a prototype of clinical expert system for risk stratification of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common hormonal disorder among women of reproductive age. It is a heterogeneous disorder of uncertain causes. Since the symptoms of PCOS are seemingly unrelated to one another the condition is often overlooked and undiagnosed. The determination of accurate degree or intensity of PCOS signs is difficult for the physician. Hence, the accuracy of diagnostic process is difficult to achieve........

Title | : | A Potent Cocktail of Clotrimazole, Ciclopiroxolamine, Zinc Ion and Tridecyl Salycilate Is Capable To Struggle Radically the Pityriasis Versicolor, Even the Repetitive and the Intermittent Ones |
Country | : | Italy |
Authors | : | Lorenzo Martini |
Abstract: The term pityriasis, evoked by Malassezia spp. a yeast, is used to describe skin conditions in which the scale appears similar to bran. The multiple colours of pityriasis versicolor give rise to the second part of the name, versicolor. Pityriasis versicolor may be called tinea versicolor, although the term tinea should strictly be used for dermatophyte fungus infections, and so commonly Pytiriasis versicolor should be treated with sulphides at high concentrations and novel antimycotics are welcome to avoid the super infection by fungal aggressions, Tineas should be treated with clotrimazole, as the fungi evoking Tineas are sensible to this remedy.......

Abstract: Gastric ulcer is one of the most common gastrointestinal tract diseases, and has affected on humans for centuries. Helicobacter pylori infection, use of drugs such as Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and stress are some of the known factors that can cause gastric ulcers. NS (Nigella sativa) has been used in traditional medicine. It used for the treatment of a variety of diseases including gastrointestinal disorders. The aim of this study to evaluate the balanced between defensive and aggressive factors in the stomach and investigated the treated effects of NS ethanolic extract against Indomethacin induced gastric ulcer in rats.........

Abstract: The whole set of genetic material of a species of plants is known as germplasm of the organisms. Through various breeding techniques the germplasm of various plant species can be stored or preserved for future plant development. The techniques of gerplasm preservation vary from cryopreservation, slow growth cultures, DNA clones, in-vitro storage, cold storage, super cold storage, field preservation to the use of artificial seeds. The major purpose of germplasm preservation is to preserve rare and endangered species of plants around the globe for future propagation and development; hence germplasm is the foundations of agricultural productions.........

Abstract: Dietary Restriction (DR) was used to determined the survival, longevity, adult weights and fecundity of adult reared blowfly Chrysomya chloropyga.Twenty males and 20 females each were put in cages and exposed to continuous feeding (control) and 24, 48, 72 and 96 hr dietary restrictions periods. The flies were fed on a mixture of ground rice and fish paste for an hour after every restriction periods. Sugar and water were provided.
